Did you know Associate Professor of Biology, Dr. Adam McLain is conducting field research in Madagascar this summer?

Dr. McLain’s research on the evolutionary biology and population genetics of dwarf lemurs is helping to shape how we understand primate biodiversity. His most recent fieldwork focuses on resolving the taxonomic status of the Nosy Hara dwarf lemur—an elusive population that may represent a previously unidentified species. This summer, 25 SUNY Poly students are participating in the 10-week Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP), which pairs qualified undergraduate students with faculty mentors, providing the opportunity to conduct research across a range of disciplines from AI, cybersecurity, biology, mathematics, physics, psychology, engineering, and more.
