The event highlighted SUNY Poly\u2019s commitment to innovation while emphasizing the importance of human-centered technology and inclusive progress.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"504\" height=\"670\" src=\"https:\/\/bridge.sunypoly.edu\/fall-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2026\/08\/0H3A3922.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-919\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7522505713885909;width:267px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bridge.sunypoly.edu\/fall-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2026\/08\/0H3A3922.jpg 504w, https:\/\/bridge.sunypoly.edu\/fall-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2026\/08\/0H3A3922-226x300.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the showcase, attendees participated in sessions covering topics such as machine learning applications in materials design, next-generation solar technologies, pandemic response strategies, cancer detection, bioinformatics, and the evolving role of AI in engineering, business, fintech, nursing, ethics, and interactive media.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Panels and workshops also examined how institutions and employers can better prepare students and professionals for an increasingly AI-driven workforce. Faculty, researchers, and industry experts&nbsp;explored&nbsp;both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with integrating artificial intelligence into everyday life and professional practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A featured keynote presentation by Dr. Gerard Puccio, director of Buffalo State University\u2019s Center for Applied Imagination, focused on the relationship between creativity, imagination, and emerging technologies. His presentation encouraged attendees to think critically about how innovation and human creativity can work together to solve complex challenges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SUNY Poly President Dr. Winston Soboyejo framed the showcase within a broader conversation about the future of technology and society, emphasizing that artificial intelligence should be viewed as a tool that strengthens human potential rather than replaces it. Throughout the event, discussions centered on the importance of ensuring that innovation&nbsp;remains&nbsp;guided by creativity, ethics, collaboration, and inclusion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In closing the showcase, Soboyejo reflected on the collaborative spirit that defined the gathering and reinforced the university\u2019s commitment to preparing students to lead responsibly in an AI-driven world. He emphasized that while AI is transforming industries and creating new possibilities, human creativity, judgment, and values&nbsp;remain&nbsp;essential to shaping how these technologies are used to improve lives and strengthen communities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AI in Action Showcase reinforced SUNY Poly\u2019s leadership at the intersection of technology, education, and societal impact.
