{"id":1021,"date":"2026-08-19T15:15:31","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T19:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bridge.sunypoly.edu\/fall-2026\/?p=1021"},"modified":"2026-08-19T16:02:26","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T20:02:26","slug":"commencement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bridge.sunypoly.edu\/fall-2026\/blog\/home-page\/commencement\/","title":{"rendered":"Commencement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SUNY Poly Celebrates the Class of 2026<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SUNY Polytechnic Institute celebrated the achievements of 794 graduates during its 51st Commencement ceremonies, held as part of the university\u2019s 60th anniversary year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of 529 students earned undergraduate degrees, while 265 received graduate degrees or certificates of advanced study. The largest undergraduate programs by&nbsp;number&nbsp;of graduates were Nursing, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Among graduate programs, the top areas included Family Nurse Practitioner, Computer Science, and the Certificate of Advanced Study in Psychiatric Mental Health.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s ceremonies also marked an important milestone for the university as SUNY Poly awarded its first-ever Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, reflecting the continued growth of the institution\u2019s advanced healthcare offerings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two commencement ceremonies were held, with the College of Engineering ceremony taking place in the morning, followed by an afternoon ceremony honoring graduates from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Health Sciences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ceremonies featured distinguished guest speakers from industry and community leadership. Dr. Henry Cialone, former President and CEO of EWI and a nationally recognized engineering and manufacturing leader, addressed graduates from the College of Engineering.
