Dear SUNY Poly Alumni, 

There is a special energy on campus this year. As we continue celebrating SUNY Poly’s 60th anniversary, we are honoring our past while building an even stronger future, and I hope you feel that momentum every time you connect with your alma mater. 

This edition of the alumni magazine highlights just a few of the exciting developments shaping SUNY Poly today. You’ll read about our historic $61.9 million U.S. Department of Defense research award, a transformational investment that will strengthen our growing research enterprise and expand opportunities for faculty and students alike. You’ll also learn about the remarkable $750,000 permanently endowed nursing scholarship established in partnership with the Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation, an investment that will support generations of future healthcare professionals while helping meet critical workforce needs across our region. These stories, along with many others, demonstrate the extraordinary progress taking place across our university. 

While we are proud of these accomplishments, what makes SUNY Poly truly special has always been our people. Our alumni are an essential part of our story, and your continued connection helps strengthen the university for today’s students and for future generations of Wildcats. 

That is why I hope you will consider returning to campus for Wildcat Homecoming Weekend, September 18–20. Whether it has been a few years or several decades since your last visit, there has never been a better time to come home. I especially invite you to join us for our 60th Anniversary Gala on Friday evening at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center. It promises to be a memorable celebration of our shared history, and yes, I will even be stepping behind the turntables for a friendly DJ battle.  

Whether you join us on campus or cheer us on from afar, I encourage you to celebrate your Wildcat pride by supporting SUNY Poly through this year’s Mohawk Valley Gives campaign. Every gift helps create new opportunities for our students and ensures future generations can benefit from the same transformative education that has connected all of us to this remarkable institution. 

As you read through these pages, I hope you see not only how far SUNY Poly has come, but also where we are headed. Our students remain our north star, our research enterprise continues to grow, our partnerships are creating new opportunities, and our commitment to serving our region has never been stronger.
