SUNY Poly Celebrates the Class of 2026

SUNY Polytechnic Institute celebrated the achievements of 794 graduates during its 51st Commencement ceremonies, held as part of the university’s 60th anniversary year.

A total of 529 students earned undergraduate degrees, while 265 received graduate degrees or certificates of advanced study. The largest undergraduate programs by number of graduates were Nursing, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Among graduate programs, the top areas included Family Nurse Practitioner, Computer Science, and the Certificate of Advanced Study in Psychiatric Mental Health.

This year’s ceremonies also marked an important milestone for the university as SUNY Poly awarded its first-ever Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, reflecting the continued growth of the institution’s advanced healthcare offerings.

Two commencement ceremonies were held, with the College of Engineering ceremony taking place in the morning, followed by an afternoon ceremony honoring graduates from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Health Sciences.

The ceremonies featured distinguished guest speakers from industry and community leadership. Dr. Henry Cialone, former President and CEO of EWI and a nationally recognized engineering and manufacturing leader, addressed graduates from the College of Engineering. Robert Esche, former NHL player, entrepreneur, and community philanthropist, delivered remarks to graduates from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Health Sciences.

Together, the ceremonies celebrated not only academic achievement, but also the determination, leadership, and ambition of SUNY Poly’s newest alumni as they begin the next chapter of their personal and professional journeys.
