In July, SUNY Poly announced that Dr. Babak Elahi was chosen as the university\u2019s new Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. A scholar of American literature and seasoned academic leader, Dr. Elahi brings an impressive track record of integrating liberal arts education into STEM-focused institutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Elahi most recently served as Dean of the College of Sciences and Liberal Arts at Kettering University. He has also held leadership positions at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), including Associate Dean and Head of Liberal Arts. His academic and administrative experience reflects a deep commitment to fostering interdisciplinary education, an ideal that resonates strongly with SUNY Poly\u2019s mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Elahi earned his Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of Rochester and has taught courses spanning literature, media studies, communication, ethics, and leadership. He is the author of The Fabric of American Literary Realism and has published widely on topics ranging from American realism to Iranian diaspora media and storytelling. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
