A Record-Breaking Day of Giving: SUNY Poly Raises $260,000 in 24 Hours

SUNY Poly is proud to share that its 2025 Day of Giving, held on March 27, was the most successful in university history, raising an unprecedented $260,000 in just 24 hours. Thanks to the generosity of alumni, faculty, staff, students, and community partners, this milestone will directly benefit student-centered programs and initiatives across campus.

Fueling this year’s momentum was a $40,000 matching gift, which doubled the impact of donations up to that amount and inspired donors from across the SUNY Poly community to step forward in support of students.

“This milestone reflects the powerful spirit of our SUNY Poly community,” said Andrea LaGatta, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “To surpass our goal and set a new record shows the deep commitment our supporters have to our students’ success. These gifts go beyond numbers—they’re investments in access, opportunity, and transformation.”

Supporting Student Success

Gifts from the Day of Giving support a wide range of programs and services, including: Wildcat Athletics; Student Scholarships; The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP); SUNY Poly Emergency Fund; Poly Pantry; The Interdisciplinary Business Center; and the SUNY Poly Annual Fund.

In addition to these vital areas, two new $25,000 endowed scholarships were established this year in loving memory of Anita Brown and Dan Ryan, ensuring future generations of students receive the support they need to thrive.

Honoring Legacy Through Scholarship

The Anita Brown Scholarship Fund will support undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Business, with preference given to female students.
The Dan Ryan Scholarship Fund will support undergraduate students in the College of Engineering, with preference for those majoring in Computer Science.

“We are deeply grateful to the Brown and Ryan families for their extraordinary generosity,” said LaGatta. “These lasting legacies are a beautiful tribute to lives well lived—and a profound investment in future generations of SUNY Poly students.”
