Message from The President and VP of Institutional Advancement
A message from President Dr. Winston Soboyejo and VP of Institutional Advancement Andrea LaGatta
Dear SUNY Poly Alumni,
We are thrilled to share the incredible news that, thanks to your unwavering support and that of the Mohawk Valley community, we achieved a record-breaking Day of Giving in March, raising over $210,000! Your generosity is a testament to the strength and spirit of our SUNY Poly community, and we are deeply grateful for your contributions.
The past six months has been nothing short of extraordinary. In addition to the record-breaking Day of Giving, SUNY Poly continued to receive historic state funding, which will help support the development of a Semiconductor Processing to Packaging Research, Education, and Training Center in the Quad-C building on campus. We also received $2.7 million to create research centers across various disciplines including artificial intelligence, humanitarian engineering, advanced materials and manufacturing, business and applied ethics, intelligent systems, among others. Our Office of Institutional Advancement also brought the Spotlight Series to life, offering workshops, youth camps and programs of all varieties that the local community could take advantage of and enjoy.
We are excited about the many opportunities and celebratory moments the new year will bring, which started with Move-In Day in late August, and an unforgettable Presidential Inauguration and Homecoming Weekend earlier this month. As we look ahead, your continued involvement is vital in building on our successes and reaching new heights. Whether through mentoring students, attending events, or participating in future fundraising efforts, your engagement matters and truly makes a difference.
With warmest regards,
Winston “Wole” Soboyejo & Andrea LaGatta
